Well, welcome friends and inquisitive passers-by.
I have finally retired and decided, after a few relaxed weeks that I would like to document my progress and share the highs and lows of growing ‘older’. May I first of all point out, I do not feel old although my body has started to creak a little and protest when I try to do things I used to do without difficulty.
I am in rebellion!
Growing older when you get beyond 20 is a pain! It’s not fair that when trying to put on a pair of tights, when standing up, now causes wobbles at worst, or, more to my horror, landing in an ungainly heap on the floor!
Staying with tights, surely someone has now invented tights that will not:
a) Ladder before you get them to the knees
b) Slide down your hips whilst you are walking to create greater that necessary wrinkles around the ankles or worse still the ‘droopy crotch’ which feels life you are walking around with a hammock between your legs.
c) Tie themselves in knots if they get as far as being washed before being re-worn.
Today I am not going to be ‘old’ – so have decided to leave the garden to the squirrels, cats, birds and weather. I am going to……………… start craft activities again, perhaps crochet.
Ahhhh. Succumbed on the first day – I really do not want to grow old!
